The just man who walks in his integrity, blessed shall be his sons after him.

Lamed The wicked borrows and does not repay: but the righteous shows mercy and gives.

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life, but the mouth of the wicked covers violence.

The thoughts of the righteous are upright, but the astuteness of the wicked is deceit.

The righteous man hates lying: but the wicked man makes himself loathsome, and abominable.

The heart of the righteous studies to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

The desire of the slothful kills him; for his hands refuse to labour. There is one who covets greedily all day long, but the righteous gives and keeps on giving.

Then shall the King say unto those on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and ye gave me food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee? or thirsty and give thee drink? When did we see thee a stranger and take thee in? or naked and clothe thee? Or when did we see thee sick or in prison and come unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brothers, ye have done it unto me.

The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; the LORD raises those that are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous:

And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. And Abraham drew near and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Peradventure there are fifty righteous within the city; wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are in it? That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked and that the righteous should be treated as the wicked that are far from thee. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, who am but dust and ashes; peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it. And he spoke unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake. And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord now be angry if I shall speak; peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it if I find thirty there. And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord; peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once; peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous shall run into it, and be raised up.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Tet A little that a righteous man has is better than the many riches of the sinners. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

The way of the LORD is strength to the perfect, but it is terror to the workers of iniquity.

The righteous is delivered out of the tribulation, and the wicked takes his place.

No iniquity shall overtake the righteous: but the wicked shall be filled with evil.

The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish, but wickedness shall cast out the wicked.

Nun I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

The righteous eats until his soul is satisfied, but the belly of the wicked shall lack.

For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned; by his rebellion in which he has trespassed and by his sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.

And thou shalt take no bribe; for the bribe blinds the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

Thou shalt not twist that which is right; thou shalt not respect persons neither take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

For the rod of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous because the righteous shall not put forth their hands unto iniquity.

Again, When the righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die because thou hast not given him warning; he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at thy hand.

And thou, son of man, say unto the sons of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him the day that he rebels; and the wickedness of the wicked shall not impede him in the day that he turns from his wickedness; and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness in the day that he sins. When I am saying to the righteous, Thou shalt shall surely live and he trusting in his own righteousness commits iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it.

Zain The wicked plots against the just and gnashes upon him with his teeth. The Lord shall laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.

Let me not be ashamed, O LORD, for I have called upon thee; let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be cut off for Sheol. Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

They gather themselves together as an army against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent blood.

Caph The LORD has accomplished his fury; he has poured out his fierce anger and has kindled a fire in Zion, and it has devoured the foundations thereof. Lamed The kings of the earth and all the inhabitants of the world never believed that the adversary and the enemy would enter in through the gates of Jerusalem. Mem For the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,

Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Israel and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they sold the righteous for silver and the poor for a pair of shoes, desiring that there be dust of the earth upon the head of the poor, and to twist the way of the humble: and the man and his father have gone in unto the same maid, profaning my holy name:

For I have known of your many rebellions and your great sins that afflict the just and take a ransom and turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.

Therefore the law is weakened, and the judgment does not go forth true: for the wicked compasses about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceeds.

that ye may be sons of your Father who is in the heavens, for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

The work of the righteous is unto life, but the fruit of the wicked is for sin.

Ain The righteous shall inherit the earth and live upon it for ever.

The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a God that judges in the earth.

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be vigorous and flourishingread more.

The desire of the righteous is only good, but the hope of the wicked is wrath.

Evil pursues sinners, but to the righteous good shall be repaid. A good man shall leave an inheritance to his children's children, and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

In the house of the righteous is much provision, but in the fruit of the wicked is trouble.

Say unto the righteous that it shall be well with him, for they shall eat of the fruit of their doings.

The righteous perishes, and no man lays it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his merciful ones.

For his wickedness shall the wicked be cast out, but the righteous in his death has hope.

Then said he also to him that invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen nor thy rich neighbours, lest they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made thee. But when thou makest a banquet, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, and thou shalt be blessed, for they cannot recompense thee; for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

from men, with thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, who have their portion in this life and whose belly thou dost fill with thy provision: they satisfy their sons and leave the rest to their family. As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake with thy likeness.

And they shall be mine, said the LORD of the hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him. Therefore become ye converted, and ye shall make a difference between the just and the wicked, between him that serves God and him that did not serve him.

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call a sect, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets, and have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. And for this reason do I exercise myself to have always a conscience void of offense toward God and toward men.
