And Jehovah said to Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.

I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him; I have brought him, and his way shall be prosperous.

which also they did, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, having fulfilled the service entrusted to them, taking also with them John, surnamed Mark.

whom I have sent to you for this very thing, that ye may know of our affairs and that he may encourage your hearts.

Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-bondman in the Lord, will make known to you all that concerns me; whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that he might know your state, and that he might encourage your hearts:
