Then John's disciples went and removed his body, and came and told Jesus. When Jesus heard it he went away privately by boat to a lonely spot; but the crowds heard about it, and followed him on foot from the cities.

Thereupon Jesus' disciples came to him and asked him privately, "Why were we not able to cast it out?"

Then he made his disciples get aboard the boat and precede him to the other side, while he sent away the crowds. After he had sent the crowds away, he went up into the mountain alone, to pray. When night came he was there alone.

Then he at once compelled the disciples to embark in the boat and go before him to Bethsaida on the other side, while he sent the people away. After he had taken leave of them, he went away into the mountain to pray.

Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, "Sit down here, while I go and pray yonder."

So they came to a place named Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, "Sit down here while I pray."

Then he went out, and began to go to the Mount of Olives, as was his wont; and his disciples followed him. But he arrived at the place he said to them, "Pray that you enter not into temptation." But he himself withdrew from them about a stone's throw, kneeling down he prayed repeatedly, saying.read more.
"Father, if thou art willing, take away this cup from me; but thy will, not mine, be done!"

It happened about that time that he went out into the mountain to pray. He continued all night in prayer to God.
