But he said to them. "I must preach the gospel of the kingdom of God to the other towns also; for that is what I was sent to do."
"Let us go away," he answered, "to the neighboring country towns, that I may preach there, too; because for that purpose I came forth."
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near."
After John had been thrown into prison Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of God. "The time is now come," he said, "and the kingdom of God is near! Repent and believe the gospel."
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me Because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, He has sent me to proclaim release to the prisoners, And recovery of sight to the blind; To set at liberty those that are bruised, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
It happened shortly afterwards that he began to go from town to town and village to village, preaching and telling the good news of the kingdom of God.
