And when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue. And behold, a man having a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbaths? This so that they might accuse Him. And He said to them, What man among you will be, who will have one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the sabbaths, will he not lay hold on it and lift it out?read more.
How much better is a man then than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Then He said to the man, Stretch out your hand. And he stretched it out, and it was restored whole like the other. Then the Pharisees went out and held council against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.

But He knew their thoughts and said to the man who had the withered hand, Rise up and stand in the middle. And he arose and stood.read more.
Then Jesus said to them, I will ask you one thing: Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil, to save life, or to destroy it? And looking around on them all, He said to the man, Stretch out your hand! And he did so. And his hand was restored whole like the other. And they were filled with madness, and talked with one another as to what they might do to Jesus.
But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and at once they told Him about her. And He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. And instantly the fever left her, and she served them.
And rising up from the synagogue, He entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was being seized with a great fever. And they asked Him for her. And standing over her, He rebuked the fever. And it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. And the sun sinking, all, as many as had sick ones with different kinds of diseases brought them to Him. And laying hands on each of them, He healed them.
And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bowed together and was not able to be completely erect. And when Jesus saw her, He called and said to her, Woman, you are delivered from your infirmity.read more.

And answering, the synagogue ruler, being angry because Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, said to the crowd, There are six days in which it is right to work. Does not each one of you on the sabbath loosen his ox or ass from the stall and lead it away, to give it drink? Then, because of this, the Jews sought the more to kill Him, because He not only had broken the sabbath, but also said that God was His father, making Himself equal with God.
And passing by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, Master, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither has this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God might be revealed in him.read more.
I must work the works of Him who sent Me, while it is day. Night comes when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world. He said to them, He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and I see. Therefore some of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, because he does not keep the sabbath. Others said, How can a man, a sinner, do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
And when the sabbath day had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him, were astonished, saying, Where does this one get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to him, that even such mighty works are done by his hands?
And when He had come into His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so much so that they were astonished and said, From where does this man have this wisdom and these mighty works?
And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And, as His custom was, He went in to the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.
But late in the week, at the dawning into the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James and Salome, had bought sweet spices so that they might come and anoint Him.
And also women were following, who were accompanying Him out of Galilee, who watched the tomb, and how His body was placed. And they returned and they prepared spices and ointment. And they rested on the sabbath day according to the commandment.

On the first of the sabbaths let each of you put by himself, storing up what ever he is prospered, so that there may be no collections when I come.
Therefore, a promise being left to enter into His rest, let us fear lest any of you should seem to come short of it.
And to whom did He swear that they should not enter into His rest, but to those who did not believe? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
