Matthew 6:2-4

When, therefore, you do a charitable deed, do not cause a trumpet to be sounded before you, as the hypocrites do, in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be glorified by men. But when you do a charitable deed, let not your left hand know what your right hand does; that your charitable deeds may be in secret; and. your Father, who sees in secret, himself will reward you openly.

And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues, and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Luke 12:22-31

And he said to his disciples: For this reason I say to you, Be not anxious for your life, what you shall eat; nor for your body, what you shall put on. Life is a greater gift than food, and the body, than clothing. Consider the ravens, that they neither sow nor reap; which have neither storehouse nor granary; yet God feeds them: you are of far more value than the birds.read more.

Matthew 7:3-5

And why do you look at the splinter that is in your brother's eye, but perceive not the beam that is in your own eye? Or, how will you say to your brother, Let me pull out the splinter from your eye: and lo; a beam is in your own eye? Hypocrite! first pull the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to pull the splinter out of your brother's eye.

Luke 6:41-42

And why do you look at the splinter that is in your brother's eye, but perceive not the beam that is in your own eye? Or, how can you say to your brother: Brother, let me pull out the splinter that is in your eye, when you yourself see not the beam that is in your own eye?
