Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? Art not thou HE, Jehovah, our God? And we wait upon thee; for thou hast made all these things.
And God called the expanse Heavens. And there was evening, and there was morning a second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear. And it was so.

Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.
And thy righteousness, O God, reacheth on high, thou who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee?
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they trembled, yea, the depths were troubled: The thick clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound, yea, thine arrows went abroad: The voice of thy thunder was in the whirlwind, lightnings lit up the world; the earth was troubled and it quaked.
Who covereth the heavens with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains;
I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith Jehovah, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; and the earth shall hear the corn, and the new wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jizreel.
And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens, to divide between the day and the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth. And it was so.

And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to the obscurity where God was. And Jehovah said to Moses, Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: Ye have seen that I have spoken with you from the heavens.
And the sun stood still, and the moon remained where it was, until the nation had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? And the sun remained standing in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a full day.
Thus saith Jehovah: Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of the heavens; for the nations are dismayed at them.
The earth quaketh before them; the heavens tremble; the sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.
And Jehovah will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: and Jehovah will be a shelter for his people, and the refuge of the children of Israel.
