Thus hath the LORD said, Do not learn the way of the Gentiles, and do not fear the signs of heaven, even though the Gentiles fear them.

He wanders abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? He knows that the day of darkness is prepared for him. Tribulation and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and his own feet shall drive him away.

And when the disciples saw him walking upon the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spoke unto them, saying, Trust that I AM; be not afraid.

And he shook off the beast into the fire and felt no harm. But they were waiting to see when he should have swollen or fallen down dead suddenly; but after they had waited a great while and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.

And I, John, saw these things and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. Then the sons of Israel did put away the Baalim and Ashtaroth and served the LORD only.

After this thing Jeroboam did not return from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places; whoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places.

Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, listening to spirits of error and doctrines of demons;

And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons and the images of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which neither can see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders nor of their witchcraft nor of their fornication nor of their thefts.
