Tzaddi The LORD is righteous, for I have rebelled against his mouth; hear now, all the peoples and see my sorrow; my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.

The young men of Heliopolis and of Pubasti shall fall by the sword; and these cities shall go into captivity. At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt; and the pride of her strength shall cease in her; as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and the inhabitants of her villages shall go into captivity.

Now therefore kill every male among the little ones and kill every woman that has known a man by lying with him. But all the female children that have not known a man by lying with him keep alive for yourselves.

And the man said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.

For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man.

Now I praise you, brothers, that ye remember me in all things and retain my instructions the same as I spoke unto you. But I would have you know that the head of every man is the Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonours his head. read more.
But every woman that prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonours her head, for that is even the same as if she were shaven. For if the woman is not covered, let her also be shorn; but if it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. Judge in yourselves: is it honest that a woman pray unto God uncovered? Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man lets his hair grow, it is dishonest? But if a woman lets her hair grow, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given her for a covering. With all this, if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the congregation of God.

I desire, therefore, that the men in every place, pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and strife. In like manner also that the women adorn themselves in an honest manner, with shyness and modesty, not with ostentatious hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing but with good works (as becomes women professing godliness). read more.

Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family because he has no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father. And they laid hands on her, and she went by the way by which the horsemen enter into the king's house, and there she was slain.

And he was with them hid in the house of God six years; and Athaliah reigned over the land.

The woman shall not wear that which pertains unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment; for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

Thou shalt not wear a garment of mixture, as of woolen and linen together.

Then Jehoiada, the priest, commanded the captains of the hundreds that governed the host and said unto them, Take her forth outside the order of the house and kill with the sword any that follow her. (For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD.) And they laid hands on her, and she went by the way by which the horsemen enter into the king's house, and there she was slain.

Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri. He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.

And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O my enemy? And he answered, I have found thee because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD. Behold, I will bring evil upon thee and will burn away thy posterity and will cut off from Ahab him that pisses against the wall and he that is kept and he that is left in Israel. And I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha, the son of Ahijah, for the provocation with which thou hast provoked me to anger and made Israel to sin. And of Jezebel, the LORD has also spoken, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel. Him that dies of Ahab in the city, the dogs shall eat, and him that dies in the field, shall the fowls of the air eat. (Truly there was none like unto Ahab, who sold himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, because Jezebel his wife incited him. He was very abominable, following idols, according to all the things that the Amorites did, whom the LORD cast out before the sons of Israel.) And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh and fasted and slept in sackcloth and went softly.

And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Therefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.

Then God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah has said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. And also of the son of the bondwoman I will make a nation because he is thy seed. So Abraham rose up early in the morning and took bread and a bottle of water and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child and sent her away; and she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba. read more.
And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under a tree. And she went and sat her down over against him a good way off as it were a bowshot; for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him and lifted up her voice and wept. And God heard the voice of the lad, and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven and said unto her, What ails thee, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad and hold him in thy hand, for I will make him a great nation. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the bottle with water and gave the lad drink. And God was with the lad, and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness and became an archer. And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother took a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.

But the Jerusalem of above is free, which is the mother of us all.

And there appeared a great sign in the heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;

With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought; they shall enter into the king's palace.

These are those who are not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These are redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

For I am jealous over you with the jealousy of God, for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ.

Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be likened unto ten virgins who, taking their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were prudent, and five were foolish. Those that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them; read more.

Moreover his mother made him a little coat and brought it to him each year when she came up with her husband to offer the accustomed sacrifice.

Therefore, it came to pass when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, she bore a son and called his name Samuel, , saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.
