If I pray with tongues, my spirit prayeth: but my mind is without fruit. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and will pray with the mind also. I will sing with the spirit, and will sing with the mind also. For else when thou blessest with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say "amen" at thy giving of thanks? Seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?read more.
Thou verily givest thanks well: but the other is not edified. I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all.
Likewise, the spirit also helpeth our infirmities. For we know not, what to desire as we ought: but the spirit maketh intercession mightily for us with groanings which cannot be expressed with tongue. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the meaning of the spirit: for he maketh intercession for the saints according to the pleasure of God.
We give God thanks always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers without ceasing, and call to remembrance your work in the faith, and labour in love and perseverance in the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God our father: because we know brethren beloved of God, how that ye are elect.read more.

When the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard say that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: which, when they were come, prayed for them, that they might receive the holy ghost.
