But how then should the scriptures be fulfilled? For so must it be." The same time said Jesus to the multitude, "Ye be come out as it were unto a thief, with swords and staves for to take me: daily I sat among you teaching in the temple, and ye took me not. All this was done that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.

The son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe be to that man, by whom the son of man shall be betrayed. It had been good for that man, if he had never been born."

And he began to say unto them, "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."

For these be the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that are written.

And he said unto them, "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken. Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?" And he began at Moses, and at all the prophets, and interpreted unto them, in all scriptures which were written of him.

"I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: But that the scripture be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

Yea, even mine own familiar friend, whom I trusted, who did also eat my bread, hath lift up his heel against me.

Now, verily, is the righteousness that cometh of God declared without the fulfilling of the law: having witness yet of the law, and of the prophets.

"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he hath visited and redeemed his people. And hath raised up a horn of salvation unto us, in the house of his servant David. Even as he promised by the mouth of his holy prophets which were since the world began.

But those things which God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, how that Christ should suffer, he hath thus wise fulfilled it.

To him giveth all the prophets witness, that through his name all that believe in him shall receive remission of sins."

Nevertheless, I obtained help of God, and continue unto this day witnessing both to small and to great; saying none other things, than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

For first of all, I delivered unto you that which I received: how that Christ died for our sins, agreeing to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he arose again the third day according to the scriptures, and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve.

Of which salvation have the prophets enquired, and searched, which prophesied of the grace that should come unto you; searching when, or at what time, the spirit of Christ which was in them should signify - which spirit testified before - the passions that should come unto Christ, and the glory that should follow after. Unto which prophets it was declared, that not unto themselves, but unto us, they should minister the things which are now showed unto you, of them which, by the holy ghost sent down from heaven, have preached unto you the things which the angels desire to behold.

All this was done, to fulfill that which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet saying, "Behold, a maiden shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is by interpretation, God with us."

Neverthelater, yet the Lord, he will give you a sign. Behold: a virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

And they said unto him, "In Bethlehem in Jewry; for thus it is written by the Prophet, 'And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Jewry, art not the least concerning the Princes of Judah: For out of thee shall come the captain, that shall govern my people Israel.'"

And thou Bethlehem Ephrata, art little among the thousands of Judah: Out of thee shall come one, unto me, which shall be the governour in Israel: whose outgoing hath been from the beginning, and from everlasting.

and was there unto the death of Herod: to fulfill that which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet, which sayeth, "Out of Egypt have I called my son."

When Israel was young, I loved him: and called my son out of the land of Egypt.

The people that have dwelt in darkness, shall see a great light. As for them that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them shall the light shine.

He was so despisable, that we esteemed him not. Truly, he took upon him our diseases, and bare our sorrows. And yet we counted him plagued, and beaten, and humbled of God.

And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true. And he knoweth that he saith true that ye might believe also.

And ye are witnesses of these things.

And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw the glory of it, as the glory of the only begotten son of the father, which word was full of grace, and verity.

And ye shall bear witness also, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

The same disciple is he, which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things. And we know, that his testimony is true.

but ye shall receive power of the holy ghost which shall come on you. And ye shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Jewry, and in Samaria, and even unto the world's end."

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

For we cannot but speak that which we have seen and heard."

And we are his records as concerning these things: and also the holy ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him."

and he was seen many days of them, which came with him from Galilee to Jerusalem which are his witnesses unto the people.

The elders which are among you I exhort, which am also an elder and a witness of the afflictions of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be opened:

That which was from the beginning, declare we unto you; which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life. For the life appeared: and we have seen, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the father, and appeared unto us.

And we have seen and do testify that the father hath sent his son, which is the saviour of the world.

And Jesus, as soon as he was baptized, came straight out of the water: And, lo, heaven was opened over him, and John saw the spirit of God descend, like a dove, and light upon him: And, lo, there came a voice from heaven, saying, "This is that, my beloved son, in whom is my delight."

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth, a city of Galilee, and was baptised of John in Jordan. And as soon as he was come out of the water, John saw the heavens open, and the holy ghost descending upon him like a dove. And there came a voice from heaven, "Thou art my dear son, in whom I delight."

And it fortuned, as all the people received baptism - And when Jesus was baptised and did pray - that heaven was opened, and the holy ghost came down in a bodily shape like a dove upon him; And a voice came from heaven, saying, "Thou art my dear son; In thee do I delight."

And John bare record, saying, "I saw the spirit descend from heaven, like unto a dove, and abide upon him, and I knew him not: But he that sent me to baptise in water, the same said unto me, 'Upon whom thou shalt see the spirit descend, and tarry still on him, the same is he which baptiseth with the holy ghost.' And I saw it, and bare record, that this is the son of God."

While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud shadowed them. And behold, there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is my dear son, in whom I delight; hear him."

And there was a cloud that shadowed them. And a voice came out of the cloud saying, "This is my dear son, hear him."

And there came a voice out of the cloud saying, "This is my dear son, hear him."

And Jesus answered them saying, "The hour is come that the son of man must be glorified. Verily, verily I say unto you, except the wheat corn fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone. If any man minister unto me, let him follow me: and where I am, there shall also my minister be. And if any man minister unto me, him will my father honour. "Now is my soul troubled. Even then, verily, when he received of God the father honour and glory, and when there came such a voice to him from that excellent glory. "This is my dear beloved son, in whom I have delight" - This voice we heard when it came from heaven, being with him in the holy mount.

Paul, the servant of Jesus Christ, called unto the office to be an apostle, put apart to preach the Gospel of God, which he promised afore by his prophets, in the holy scriptures that make mention of his son, the which was begotten unto him of the seed of David, as pertaining to the flesh:read more.

God hath now fulfilled unto us their children, in that he raised up Jesus again, even as it is written in the second psalm, 'Thou art my son, this same day begat I thee.' As concerning that he so raised him up from death, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, 'The holy promises made to David I will give them faithfully to you.' Wherefore he saith also in another place, 'Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy to see corruption.'

because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world according to righteousness, by that man, whom he hath appointed, and hath offered faith to all men, after that he had raised him from death."

Wherefore, if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from death, dwell in you: even he that raised up Christ from death, shall quicken your mortal bodies, because that this spirit dwelleth in you.

For if thou shalt knowledge with thy mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and shalt believe with thine heart that God raised him up from death, thou shalt be safe.

If Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also in vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God. For we have testified of God how that he raised up Christ, whom he raised not up, if it be so that the dead rise not up again.

Which, by his means, have believed on God that raised him from death, and glorified him, that your faith and hope might be in God.

I marvel that ye are so soon turned from him that called you in the grace of Christ, unto another gospel: which is nothing else, but that there be some which trouble you, and intend to pervert the gospel of Christ. Nevertheless, though we ourselves, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, hold him as accursed.read more.
As I said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other thing unto you, than that ye have received, hold him accursed.

For other foundation can no man lay, than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Ye beloved, believe not every spirit: but prove the spirits whether they be of God, or not: for many false prophets are gone out in to the world. Hereby shall ye know the spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God. And the same is that spirit of antichrist, of whom ye have heard, how that he should come: and even now already is he in the world.
