He takes it with his eyes: his nose pierces through snares.

But this is a people robbed and plundered; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivers; for a spoil, and none says, Restore.

The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.

Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no trap is for it? shall one take up a snare from the earth, having taken nothing at all?

You are snared with the words of your mouth, you are taken with the words of your mouth.

The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall escape from trouble.

That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproves in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nothing.

Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaks deceit: one speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart he lies in wait.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and perdition.

Therefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.

And Gideon made an ephod of it, and put it in his city, even in Ophrah: and all Israel went there and played the harlot with it: which thing became a snare unto Gideon, and to his house.

It is a snare to the man to declare something is holy, and afterward to reconsider his vows.

Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man you shall not go: Lest you learn his ways, and get a snare to your soul.

And say, Thus says the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew charms upon all wrists, and make veils for the heads, of every length, to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of my people, and will you save the souls alive that belong to you?

Hear you this, O priests; and hearken, you house of Israel; and give you ear, O house of the king; for judgment is for you, because you have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

The fear of man brings a snare: but whosoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

And there came from the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold unto David. And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If you are come peaceably unto me to help me, my heart shall be knit unto you: but if you are come to betray me to my enemies, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, the God of our fathers look on it, and rebuke it.

The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

The schemes also of the schemer are evil: he devises wicked plans to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks justly.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he has ceased to be wise, and to do good. He devises mischief upon his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he abhors not evil.

They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, are deep.

Perversity is in his heart, he devises evil continually; he sows discord.

Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace there is joy.

An ungodly man digs up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire. A perverse man sows strife: and a whisperer separates best friends. A violent man entices his neighbor, and leads him into the way that is not good.read more.
He shuts his eyes to devise perverse things: moving his lips he brings evil to pass.

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and plan deceit all the day long.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.

Yet they sent unto me four times in this way; and I answered them after the same manner.

Because he has loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also cast off restraint before me. Upon my right hand rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.

The wicked in his pride does persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I strayed not from your precepts.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set traps for me. Selah.

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then you knew my path. In the way in which I walked have they secretly laid a snare for me.

For among my people are found wicked men: they lie in wait, as he that sets snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

Let a cry be heard from their houses, when you shall bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have dug a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the nations.

Then the presidents and satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault; because he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God. All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the satraps, the counselors, and the advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, except from you, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

Why do the nations rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

Who by the mouth of your servant David has said, Why did the nations rage, and the people imagine vain things?

For they intended evil against you: they devised a mischievous act, which they are not able to perform.

For they have consulted together with one consent: they make a covenant against you:

Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they devise evil against me.

There has one come out of you, that imagines evil against the LORD, a wicked counselor.

Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why test me, you hypocrites?

Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt you me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

And the Pharisees went forth, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marveled at his answer, and held their peace.

This they said, testing him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons. Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek you?

The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,

And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.

That we from now on be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive;

Whosoever causes the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

The steps of his strength shall be shortened, and his own counsel shall cast him down. For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walks upon a snare. The trap shall take him by the heel, and a snare shall lay hold of him.read more.
The noose is laid for him on the ground, and a trap for him in the way.

The LORD is known by the judgment which he executes: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
