Do not mistreat a foreigner. You know how it feels to be a foreigner. After all you were foreigners in Egypt.
Let him live with you in your midst. Let him choose a place in one of your towns where it pleases him. Do not mistreat him.

If you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those that are left will be as troublesome as splinters in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will fight against you.
Jehovah your God will no longer drive these nations out as you advance. Rather, they will be as dangerous for you as a trap or a pit and as painful as a whip on your back or thorns in your eyes. This will last until none of you are left in this good land that Jehovah your God gave you.
I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples when I bring your destruction among the nations, into lands you have not known.
I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view. And he that troubles you will bear his judgment, who ever he is.
I will make a place for my people Israel and plant them there. They will dwell in their own place and not be troubled anymore. The wicked will not oppress them as they used to do
