Then they say, "How can God know? Does the Most High have knowledge?"

First of all you must understand this: In the last days mockers will come and, following their own desires, will ridicule us by saying, "What happened to the Messiah's promise to return? Ever since our ancestors died, everything continues as it did from the beginning of creation."

But when I stumbled, they rejoiced and gathered together. They gathered together against me attackers whom I did not know. They tore me apart and would not stop. Malicious mockers they gnashed their teeth against me.

So be careful that what the prophets said doesn't happen to you: "Look, you mockers! Be amazed and die! Since I am performing an action in your days, one that you would not believe even if someone told you!'"

You must realize, however, that in the last days difficult times will come. traitors, reckless, conceited, and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. They will hold to an outward form of godliness but deny its power. Stay away from such people.

No one should be immoral or godless like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.

If the righteous receive what they are due here on earth, how much more will the wicked and the sinner.

The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous. Though God scoffs at scoffers, he gives grace to the humble.

"How terrible it will be for Assyria, the rod of my anger! The club is in their hands! For God's wrath is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of those who in their wickedness suppress the truth.

Now by that same word, the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire and are being kept for the day when ungodly people will be judged and destroyed.

For where is the hope of the godless when he is eliminated; when God takes away his life?

Though God scoffs at scoffers, he gives grace to the humble.

"If it is hard for the righteous person to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and sinful person?"

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It trains us to renounce ungodly living and worldly passions so that we might live sensible, honest, and godly lives in the present age

When one of you has a complaint against another, does he dare to take the matter before those who are unrighteous and not before the saints?

How blessed is the person, who does not take the advice of the wicked, who does not stand on the path with sinners, and who does not sit in the seat of mockers.

However, avoid pointless discussions. For people will become more and more ungodly,

Do not have anything to do with godless myths and fables of old women. Instead, train yourself to be godly.

Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the pointless discussions and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge. Although some claim to have it, they have abandoned the faith. May grace be with all of you!
