Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evilspeaking, be put away from you, with all malice; and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Ye have heard that it was said, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy." But I say to you, Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you;
But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies; do good to those who hate you; bless those who curse you; pray for those who are spiteful to you.
But whoever hath this worlds goods, and seeth his brother having need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
But the Lord answered him and said, Hypocrites, doth not each of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away and water him?
And he answered them and said, Who is there of you, who, if his son or his ox fall into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the sabbathday?
Then will he say also to those on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the everlasting fire, which is prepared for the Devil and his angels. For I was hungry, and ye gave me no food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
And he sent messengers before him; and they went and entered a city of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did not receive him, because his face was as if he were going to Jerusalem.
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say to them, Depart in peace, be warmed and be filled, notwithstanding ye give them not the things needful for the body, what doth it profit?
although he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, giving you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
Or dost thou despise the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God is leading thee to repentance?
Behold then the goodness and the severity of God; toward those who fell, severity; but toward thee Gods goodness, if thou continue in his goodness; otherwise thou also wilt be cut off.
that he might show in the ages to come the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
