then I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, "behold, the tabernacle of God is with men: he will dwell with them, they shall be his people, God himself shall be with them, as their God.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

and when I am gone, and have prepar'd a place for you, I will come again, to take you with me, that where I am there ye may be also.

then we, who shall be still alive, shall be convey'd together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall ever be with the Lord.

they shall see his face; and his name shall be. in their foreheads.

his lord said to him, well done, thou art an honest faithful servant; thou hast been faithful in a small trust, I will give thee a much larger trust; go in and partake of thy master's diversions.

These things have I spoken to you, that you might have some present comfort, and that hereafter your joy might be compleat.

for what can be our hope, or joy, what can crown our pretensions, unless it be you, when we shall appear before the Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? for ye are our glory and our joy.

by which you may be assur'd, that they will be punish'd by the divine justice, and that you shall be rewarded with the kingdom of God, for which you suffer; since it is agreeable to his justice to afflict those in their turn, who afflict you: and that you, who are distress'd, should obtain your repose, together with us, when the Lord Jesus, with his angels, the ministers of his power, shall descend from heaven,

Then I heard a voice from heaven, saying to me, "write, blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; yes, from henceforth, saith the spirit, they shall rest from their labours; and the recompence of their labours shall follow them."

for in the other life after this, there will be no such thing as marriage; but they will be as the angels of God in heaven.

for when they shall rise from the dead, they neither will marry, nor be given in marriage, but be immortal like the angels in heaven.

but they, who shall be accounted worthy to obtain the resurrection to an eternal life, shall have no concern in marriage, as being immortal: for by the resurrection they will inherit a nature truely angelical and divine.

the city had no need either of the sun, or of the moon to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamb is the luminary thereof.

for the light affliction, which I at present suffer, will be infinitely over-ballanced by an eternal weight of glory;

Christ is your life, and when he shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory.

conjuring you to live suitably to the favour of God, who has called you to his kingdom and glory.

for I consider, that the sufferings of this present life are infinitely over-ballanc'd by that glory which shall hereafter be discovered to us.

I address myself to you pastors, as being a pastor myself, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and as one who is to partake of the glory, that shall hereafter be made manifest;

for the lamb who is in the midst before the throne, shall feed them, and shall lead them to living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

but we are the denisons of heaven, from whence we expect the saviour Jesus Christ our Lord.

but the heavenly Jerusalem is represented by the free-woman, who is the mother of us all.

they desired therefore a better, that is, an heavenly country: so that God is very justly stiled their God: for he had appointed a city for them.

and I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descend from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

however, let not this be the matter of your rejoicing, that the spirits are subject to you: but rejoice, that you have a title to the joys of heaven.

and I saw the dead, small and great, stand before the throne; the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out. of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

and nothing that is impure, no one that is guilty of any abomination, or a lye, shall ever enter there: but they alone who are written in the lamb's book of life.
