'One' in the Bible
But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,And the one who loves violence His soul hates.
They speak falsehood to one another;With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;There is no one who does good.
They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt;There is no one who does good, not even one.
For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol;Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
Its rising is from one end of the heavens,And its circuit to the other end of them;And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,To behold the beauty of the LordAnd to meditate in His temple.
He keeps all his bones,Not one of them is broken.
I went about as though it were my friend or brother;I bowed down mourning, as one who sorrows for a mother.
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong,Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.
Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One,In Your splendor and Your majesty!
A Psalm of Asaph.The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken,And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.

Every one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt;There is no one who does good, not even one.
For it is not an enemy who reproaches me,Then I could bear it;Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me,Then I could hide myself from him.
God will hear and answer them—Even the one who sits enthroned from of old— Selah.With whom there is no change,And who do not fear God.
How blessed is the one whom You choose and bring near to YouTo dwell in Your courts.We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,Your holy temple.
Saying, “God has forsaken him;Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to deliver.”
I will also praise You with a harp,Even Your truth, O my God;To You I will sing praises with the lyre,O Holy One of Israel.
Like a dream when one awakes,O Lord, when aroused, You will despise their form.
It seems as if one had lifted upHis axe in a forest of trees.
But God is the Judge;He puts down one and exalts another.
Again and again they tempted God,And pained the Holy One of Israel.
They have poured out their blood like water round about Jerusalem;And there was no one to bury them.
“Nevertheless you will die like menAnd fall like any one of the princes.”
For they have conspired together with one mind;Against You they make a covenant:
They go from strength to strength,Every one of them appears before God in Zion.
There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord,Nor are there any works like Yours.
“I shall mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me;Behold, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia:‘This one was born there.’”
But of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”;And the Most High Himself will establish her.
The Lord will count when He registers the peoples,“This one was born there.” Selah.
You Yourself crushed Rahab like one who is slain;You scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.
For our shield belongs to the Lord,And our king to the Holy One of Israel.
Once You spoke in vision to Your godly ones,And said, “I have given help to one who is mighty;I have exalted one chosen from the people.
Can a throne of destruction be allied with You,One which devises mischief by decree?
Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy;No one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure.
My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me;He who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to me.
And they wandered about from nation to nation,From one kingdom to another people.
Then He brought them out with silver and gold,And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.
So He saved them from the hand of the one who hated them,And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
The waters covered their adversaries;Not one of them was left.
When they became envious of Moses in the camp,And of Aaron, the holy one of the Lord,
Therefore He said that He would destroy them,Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him,To turn away His wrath from destroying them.
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord;We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.
The sum of Your word is truth,And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.
I rejoice at Your word,As one who finds great spoil.
Until I find a place for the Lord,A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
For there our captors demanded of us songs,And our tormentors mirth, saying,“Sing us one of the songs of Zion.”
O daughter of Babylon, you devastated one,How blessed will be the one who repays youWith the recompense with which you have repaid us.
How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little onesAgainst the rock.
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;And in Your book were all writtenThe days that were ordained for me,When as yet there was not one of them.
As when one plows and breaks open the earth,Our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
Look to the right and see;For there is no one who regards me;There is no escape for me;No one cares for my soul.
One generation shall praise Your works to another,And shall declare Your mighty acts.
