'Overwhelming' in the Bible

Trouble and distress terrify him,overwhelming him like a king prepared for battle.

For you said, “We have cut a deal with Death,and we have made an agreement with Sheol;when the overwhelming scourge passes through,it will not touch us,because we have made falsehood our refugeand have hidden behind treachery.”

Your deal with Death will be dissolved,and your agreement with Sheol will not last.When the overwhelming scourge passes through,you will be trampled.

For the Lord has poured out on youan overwhelming urge to sleep;He has shut your eyes—the prophets,and covered your heads—the seers.

But He will completely destroy Ninevehwith an overwhelming flood,and He will chase His enemies into darkness.
