'Wicked' in the Bible

“There the wicked cease from raging,And there the weary are at rest.

“Those who hate you will be clothed with shame,And the tent of the wicked will be no longer.”

“It is all one; therefore I say,‘He destroys the guiltless and the wicked.’

“The earth is given into the hand of the wicked;He covers the faces of its judges.If it is not He, then who is it?

“I am accounted wicked,Why then should I toil in vain?

‘Is it right for You indeed to oppress,To reject the labor of Your hands,And to look favorably on the schemes of the wicked?

‘If I am wicked, woe to me!And if I am righteous, I dare not lift up my head.I am sated with disgrace and conscious of my misery.

“But the eyes of the wicked will fail,And there will be no escape for them;And their hope is to breathe their last.”

“The wicked man writhes in pain all his days,And numbered are the years stored up for the ruthless.

That the triumphing of the wicked is short,And the joy of the godless momentary?

“This is the wicked man’s portion from God,Even the heritage decreed to him by God.”

“Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand;The counsel of the wicked is far from me.

“How often is the lamp of the wicked put out,Or does their calamity fall on them?Does God apportion destruction in His anger?

“May my enemy be as the wickedAnd my opponent as the unjust.

“This is the portion of a wicked man from God,And the inheritance which tyrants receive from the Almighty.

“I broke the jaws of the wickedAnd snatched the prey from his teeth.

Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity,And walks with wicked men?

Who says to a king, ‘Worthless one,’To nobles, ‘Wicked ones’;

“He strikes them like the wickedIn a public place,

‘Job ought to be tried to the limit,Because he answers like wicked men.

“He does not keep the wicked alive,But gives justice to the afflicted.

“But you were full of judgment on the wicked;Judgment and justice take hold of you.

That it might take hold of the ends of the earth,And the wicked be shaken out of it?

“From the wicked their light is withheld,And the uplifted arm is broken.

“Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him,And tread down the wicked where they stand.
