Joab replied, "May the Lord make his army a hundred times larger! My master, O king, do not all of them serve my master? Why does my master want to do this? Why bring judgment on Israel?"

Abimelech summoned Abraham and said to him, "What have you done to us? What sin did I commit against you that would cause you to bring such great guilt on me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that should not be done!"

Moses said to Aaron, "What did this people do to you, that you have brought on them so great a sin?"

When they went up to the Eshcol Valley and saw the land, they frustrated the intent of the Israelites so that they did not enter the land that the Lord had given them.

Indeed, may the Lord, the God of your ancestors, make you a thousand times more numerous than you are now, blessing you just as he said he would!

This ought not to be, my sons! For the report that I hear circulating among the Lord's people is not good.

He will hand Israel over to their enemies because of the sins which Jeroboam committed and which he made Israel commit."

Be strong! Let's fight bravely for the sake of our people and the cities of our God! The Lord will do what he decides is best!"

May he increase your numbers, yours and your children's!

A king's glory is the abundance of people, but the lack of subjects is the ruin of a ruler.

You have made the nation larger, O Lord, you have made the nation larger and revealed your splendor, you have extended all the borders of the land.

Your descendants would have been as numerous as sand, and your children like its granules. Their name would not have been cut off and eliminated from my presence.
