Dear friends, it is no new command that I am writing you, but an old one that you have had from the beginning. That old command is the same as the message you have heard.

just as the original eye-witnesses who became teachers of the message have handed it down to us.

They said to him, "Who are you?" Jesus said to them,

And you at Philippi know as well as I do, that in the early days of the good news, after I left Macedonia, no church but yours went into partnership and opened an account with me.

And now I beg you, my lady??ot as though I were writing you any new command, but one which we have had from the beginning??et us love one another.

This is the way we know that we keep in union with him and he does with us??ecause he has given us some of his Spirit.

Jesus answered, "Anyone who loves me will observe my teaching, and my Father will love him and we will come to him and live with him.

I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. You must retain my love.

Let them all be one. Just as you, Father, are in union with me and I am with you, let them be in union with us, so that the world may believe that you sent me.
