Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
1 John 3:11
For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is which you are proclaiming?
2 John 1:5
Now I ask you, lady,
not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.
You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
“ You have heard that it was said, ‘ You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
And He said to him,
“‘ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
“The foremost is, ‘; Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord
Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for
he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
For you were called to
freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
If, however, you
are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “ You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.
“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
