But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but within they are rapacious wolves.

And Jesus answered and said to them, See that no man deceives you;

for such serve not our anointed Lord, but themselves, And by kind and complimentary words deceive the minds of the simple.

But there were also false prophets among the people, as there shall also be false teachers among you, who shall bring in by stealth destructive heresies, even denying the master that bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction;

And why even of yourselves do you not judge what is right?

but these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with all readiness, examining the Scriptures daily [to see] if these things were so.

For your obedience has come to all; I rejoice in you therefore, but I wish you to be wise for that which is good, and simple for evil.

Let two or three prophets speak, and let the rest judge;

Prove all things, hold fast the good;

I know your works and your labor and your patience, and that you cannot bear the wicked, and you tried those who say they are apostles and are not, and found them false;
