And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
2 Kings 3:15
bring me a minstrel.” And it came about, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.
For thus the Lord spoke to me
with mighty power and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and there the hand of the Lord came upon him.)
So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away; and I went embittered in the rage of my spirit, and
the hand of the Lord was strong on me.
2 Kings 4:29
Then he said to Gehazi, “
Gird up your loins and take my staff in your hand, and go your way; if you meet any man, do not salute him, and if anyone salutes you, do not answer him; and lay my staff on the lad’s face.”
2 Kings 9:1
Now Elisha the prophet called one of
the sons of the prophets and said to him, “ Gird up your loins, and take this flask of oil in your hand and go to Ramoth-gilead.
“Now gird up your loins like a man,
I will ask you, and you instruct Me!
gird up your loins and arise, and speak to them all which I command you. Do not be dismayed before them, or I will dismay you before them.
Stand firm therefore,
having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
