Solomon Requests Wisdom From God

⁴ And the king went to Gibeon, to offer there: for that was a great offering place. And there Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings upon that altar. ⁵ And in Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night. And God said, "Ask what I shall give thee." ⁶ And Solomon said, "Thou hast showed unto thy servant David, my father, great mercy; according as he walked before thee in truth and in righteousness and plainness of heart with thee. And thou hast kept for him this great mercy, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his seat: as it is come to pass this day.
