Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.
The leaders offered the dedication offering
for the altar when it was anointed, so the leaders offered their offering before the altar.
2 Chronicles 2:4
Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the Lord my God, dedicating it to Him,
to burn fragrant incense before Him and to set out the showbread continually, and to offer burnt offerings morning and evening, on sabbaths and on new moons and on the appointed feasts of the Lord our God, this being required forever in Israel.
2 Chronicles 7:5
King Solomon offered a sacrifice of 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. Thus the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
And the sons of Israel, the priests, the Levites and the rest of the
exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.
Now at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites from all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem so that they might celebrate the dedication with gladness, with hymns of thanksgiving and with songs
to the accompaniment of cymbals, harps and lyres.
At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem;
and for the sacrifice of
peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, five male lambs one year old. This was the offering of Nethanel the son of Zuar.
