Solomon's Accomplishments

²³ These were the chief officers who were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people doing the work. ²⁴ As soon as Pharaoh’s daughter came up from the city of David to her house which Solomon had built for her, then he built the Millo. ²⁵ Now three times in a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar which he built to the Lord, burning incense with them on the altar which was before the Lord. So he finished the house.

So David lived in the stronghold and called it the city of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward.

1 Kings 7:8

His house where he was to live, the other court inward from the hall, was of the same workmanship. He also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom Solomon had married.

1 Kings 11:27

Now this was the reason why he rebelled against the king: Solomon built the Millo, and closed up the breach of the city of his father David.

2 Chronicles 32:5

And he took courage and rebuilt all the wall that had been broken down and erected towers on it, and built another outside wall and strengthened the Millo in the city of David, and made weapons and shields in great number.

Then Solomon formed a marriage alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter and brought her to the city of David until he had finished building his own house and the house of the Lord and the wall around Jerusalem.

Now this is the account of the forced labor which King Solomon levied to build the house of the Lord, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.

2 Chronicles 8:11

Then Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter up from the city of David to the house which he had built for her, for he said, “My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy where the ark of the Lord has entered.”
