But above all things, have fervent love among you. For love covereth the multitude of sins.

Evil will stirreth up strife; but love covereth the multitude of sins.

let the same know, that he which converted the sinner from going astray out of his way, shall save a soul from death, and shall hide the multitude of sins. {Here ends the General Epistle of James}

And forasmuch as ye have purified your souls through the spirit, in obeying the truth for to love brotherly without feigning, see that ye love one another with a pure heart, fervently:

Whoso covereth another man's offense, seeketh love; but he that discloseth the fault, setteth friends at variance.

Above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness,

A fool uttereth his wrath in all the haste, but a discreet man forgiveth wrong.

He that giveth sentence in a matter before he hear it, is a fool, and worthy to be confounded.

Though I spake with the tongues of men and angels, and yet had no love, I were even as sounding brass: or as a tinkling cymbal.

and the Lord increase you, and make you flow over in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you,

But as touching brotherly love, ye need not that I write unto you. For ye are taught of God to love one another.

We are bound to thank God always for you brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and every one of you swimmeth in love toward another between yourselves,

For the end of the commandment is love that cometh of a pure heart and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

Let brotherly love continue.

But above all things, my brethren, swear not: neither by heaven, neither by earth, neither by any other oath. Let your yea be "yea," and your nay, "nay," lest ye fall into hypocrisy.

and in knowledge, temperance; and in temperance, patience; in patience, godliness;

Wellbeloved, I wish in all things that thou prosperedest and faredest well, even as thy soul prospereth.
