1 Samuel 14:24
Now the men of Israel were hard-pressed on that day, for Saul had
put the people under oath, saying, “Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and until I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.
So he scraped
the honey into his hands and went on, eating as he went. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them and they ate it; but he did not tell them that he had scraped the honey out of the body of the lion.
If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come from a great distance.”
