2 We always mention you in our prayers, and give thanks to God for you all:

2 (F)We give thanks to God always for all of you, (G)making mention of you in our prayers;

2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

2 We always thank God for all of you, remembering you constantly in our prayers.

2 We always thank God for all of you when we mention you in our prayers.

3 never forgetting the effects of your faith, your charitable offices, and the constancy of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ; of which God is our witness.

3 constantly bearing in mind your (H)work of faith and labor of (I)love and (a)(J)steadfastness of hope (b)in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of (K)our God and Father,

3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

3 We recall, in the presence of our God and Father,(D) your work of faith,(E) labor of love, and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ,(F)

3 In the presence of our God and Father, we constantly remember how your faith is active, your love is hard at work, and your hope in our Lord Jesus the Messiah is enduring.

4 for we are persuaded, my brethren, that you are the peculiar objects of divine favour;

4 knowing, (L)brethren beloved by God, (M)His choice of you;

4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

4 knowing your election,(G) brothers loved(H) by God.(I)

4 Brothers whom God loves, we know that he has chosen you,

5 since the gospel we preach'd, did not consist only of words, but was fully confirm'd by miracles and gifts of the holy spirit, you yourselves being witnesses, what we did among you and for you.

5 for our (N)gospel did not come to you in word only, but also (O)in power and in the Holy Spirit and with (P)full conviction; just as you know (Q)what kind of men we (c)proved to be among you for your sake.

5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

5 For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit,(J) and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we were among you(K) for your benefit,

5 for the gospel we brought did not come to you in words only, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and with deep conviction. Indeed, you know what kind of people we proved to be while we were with you, acting on your behalf.

6 and you imitated us, and were imitators of the Lord, having receiv'd the word, notwithstanding all your afflictions, with that alacrity, which the holy spirit inspires.

6 You also became (R)imitators of us and of the Lord, (S)having received (T)the word in much tribulation with the (U)joy of the Holy Spirit,

6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

6 and you became imitators of us and of the Lord when, in spite of severe persecution, you welcomed the message(L) with joy from the Holy Spirit.

6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord. In spite of a great deal of suffering, you welcomed the word with the joy that the Holy Spirit produces.

7 so that you became examples to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

7 so that you became an example to all the believers in (V)Macedonia and in (W)Achaia.

7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

7 As a result, you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia(M) and Achaia.(N)

7 As a result, you became a model for all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.

8 for the gospel has made so favourable a progress not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every other place, where the reputation of your divine faith has spread, that 'tis needless to mention any thing of it; since they all relate of us,

8 For (X)the word of the Lord has (Y)sounded forth from you, not only in (Z)Macedonia and (AA)Achaia, but also (AB)in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything.

8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

8 For the Lord’s message rang out from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place that your faith(c)(O) in God has gone out. Therefore, we don’t need to say anything,

8 From you the word of the Lord has spread out not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place where your faith in God has become known. As a result, we do not need to say anything about it.

9 how successful our arrival was among you, and how you renounc'd your idols to serve the living and true God,

9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a (d)(AC)reception we had (e)with you, and how you (AD)turned to God (AE)from (f)idols to serve (g)(AF)a living and true God,

9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

9 for they themselves report(d) what kind of reception(P) we had from you: how you turned(Q) to God from idols(R) to serve the living(S) and true(T) God

9 For people keep telling us what kind of welcome you gave us and how you turned away from idols to serve a living and true God

10 and to expect his son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivers us from impending ruin.

10 and to (AG)wait for His Son from (h)heaven, whom He (AH)raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who (AI)rescues us from (AJ)the wrath to come.

10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

10 and to wait(U) for His Son(V) from heaven, whom He raised from the dead(W)—Jesus, who rescues us(X) from the coming wrath.(Y)

10 and to wait for his Son whom he raised from the dead to come back from heaven. This Jesus is the one who rescues us from the coming wrath.
