AND certain persons having come down from Judea taught the brothers, If you are not circumcised according to the custom of Moses you cannot be saved.

and believe yourself to be a guide of the blind, a light of those in darkness,

This only would I learn of you. Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by a hearing of faith?

Tell me, you that wish to be under the law, do you not hear the law?

For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is bound to perform the whole law.

For there are many disorderly wranglers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

he is blinded and knows nothing, but has a sickly longing for debates and wars of words, from which arise envy, contention, blasphemies, evil suspicions,

Let them go; they are blind guides of the blind. But if the blind lead the blind, they will both fall into the pit.

And they answered Jesus, and said, We do not know. And he said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Woe to you blind guides, who say, Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound.

Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be?

And the Pharisees who were with him heard these things and said to him, Are we also blind?

Saying that they were wise they became foolish,

always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.

but these, like irrational animals, brutes made to be taken and destroyed, reviling things which they do not understand, will also be destroyed in their depravity,
