For I think that God has shown us the apostles last, as devoted to death, for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and men.

being afflicted in every thing but not distressed, being perplexed but not in despair,

Are they ministers of Christ? I speak foolishly, I am more; in labors most abundant, in stripes above measure, in imprisonments most abundant, in deaths often;

in which I suffer even to chains as an evil doer; but the word of God is not bound.

But you have followed my instruction,??ode of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, love, patience,

judging the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he had respect to the reward.

Let us therefore go out to him without the encampment, bearing his reproach;

If you are reproached for the name of Christ, happy are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

Because

Charge the rich in the present life not to be high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God who gives us all things richly to enjoy,

he trusted in God; let him deliver him if he wishes for him; for he said, I am a Son of God.

And again, Isaiah says, There shall be a root of Jesse and he shall stand up to rule nations, in him shall nations hope.

who through him believed in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope may be in God.

and he is a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but for all the world.

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son, the Saviour of the world.

I tell you most truly, he that hears my word and believes him that sent me has eternal life, and comes not into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

He that believes on the Son of God has the testimony in himself; he that believes not God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony which God has testified concerning his Son.
