He ignored the advice the elders gave him. He sought advice from the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him.

Give instruction to a wise man and he will become even wiser. Teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning (insight).

The one who walks with wise men will be wise. A companion of fools will be destroyed.

Listen to counsel and accept instruction (discipline), that you may be wise in the future.

As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise provider to a listening ear.

A wise man's heart is at his right hand and a fool's heart at his left.

Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child and your princes eat in the morning!
