‘Thus says the Lord God, “This also I will let the house of Israel ask Me to do for them: I will increase their men like a flock.

You are My friends if you do what I command you.

Saying

then I will establish your royal throne as I covenanted with your father David, saying, ‘

You shall not lack a man to be ruler in Israel.’

When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom.

so that the Lord may carry out His promise which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons are careful of their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,

you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

“Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes and execute My ordinances and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will carry out My word with you which I spoke to David your father.

“If your sons will keep My covenant
And My testimony which I will teach them,
Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forever.”

There shall not fail thee a man

For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,
And I have walked in Your truth.
