Evil Manasseh Reigns After Godly Hezekiah

11 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Hephzibah.

11 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hephzibah.

11 Manasseh was 12 years old when he became king; he reigned 55 years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hephzibah.

11 Manasseh began to reign at the age of twelve, and he reigned for 55 years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Hephzibah.

11 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began his fifty-five-year [wicked] reign in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hephzibah.

22 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD dispossessed before the sons of Israel.

22 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

22 He did what was evil in the Lord's sight, imitating the abominations of the nations that the Lord had dispossessed before the Israelites.

22 He did what the LORD considered to be evil, following the despicable practices of the nations whom the LORD had expelled in full view of the people of Israel.

22 He [Hezekiah's son] did evil in the sight of the Lord, after the [idolatrous] practices of the [heathen] nations whom the Lord cast out before the Israelites.

33 For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he erected altars for Baal and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel had done, and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.

33 For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

33 He rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had destroyed and reestablished the altars for Baal. He made an Asherah, as King Ahab of Israel had done; he also worshiped the whole heavenly host and served them.

33 He rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had destroyed. He erected altars for Baal, crafted an Asherah, just as King Ahab of Israel had done, and worshipped and served the stars of heaven.

33 For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshiped all the [starry] hosts of the heavens and served them!

44 He built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem I will put My name."

44 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.

44 He would build altars in the Lord's temple, where the Lord had said, "Jerusalem is where I will put My name."

44 He also built altars in the LORD's Temple, about which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem I will place my Name."

44 And he built [heathen] altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord said, In Jerusalem will I put My Name [and the pledge of My presence].

55 For he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

55 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

55 He built altars to the whole heavenly host in both courtyards of the Lord's temple.

55 He built two altars to every star in the heavens in the two courts of the LORD's Temple.

55 And he [good Hezekiah's son] built altars for all the hosts of the heavens in the two courts of the house of the Lord!

66 He made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and used divination, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD provoking Him to anger.

66 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

66 He made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did a great amount of evil in the Lord's sight, provoking [Him].

66 He made his son into a burnt offering, practiced witchcraft, used divination, and consorted with mediums and spirit-channelers. He practiced many things that the LORD considered to be evil and provoked him.

66 And he made his son pass through the fire and burned him as an offering [to Molech]; he practiced soothsaying and augury, and dealt with mediums and wizards! He did much wickedness in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him to anger.

77 Then he set the carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which the LORD said to David and to his son Solomon, "In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever.

77 And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

77 Manasseh set up the carved image of Asherah he made in the temple that the Lord had spoken about to David and his son Solomon, "I will establish My name forever in this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.

77 He also erected the carved image of Asherah that he had made inside the Temple about which the LORD had spoken to David and to his son Solomon, "I will put my Name forever in this Temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all of the tribes of Israel.

77 He made a graven image of [the goddess] Asherah and set it in the house, of which the Lord said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put My Name [and the pledge of My presence] forever;

88 "And I will not make the feet of Israel wander anymore from the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them."

88 Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.

88 I will never again cause the feet of the Israelites to wander from the land I gave to their ancestors if only they will be careful to do all I have commanded them-the whole law that My servant Moses commanded them."

88 And I will not make Israel's feet to wander anymore from the land that I have given to their ancestors, if they will only be careful to do everything that I have commanded them according to the entire Law that my servant Moses commanded them."

88 And I will not cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them and according to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.

99 But they did not listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do evil more than the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the sons of Israel.

99 But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.

99 But they did not listen; Manasseh caused them to stray so that they did greater evil than the nations the Lord had destroyed before the Israelites.

99 But they would not listen. Manasseh led them astray to practice more evil than the nations whom the LORD had destroyed in the presence of the Israelis.

99 But they would not listen; and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than the nations did whom the Lord destroyed before the Israelites!

Yahweh Sends A Rebuke To Manasseh

1010 Now the LORD spoke through His servants the prophets, saying,

1010 And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,

1010 The Lord spoke through His servants the prophets, saying,

1010 So the LORD announced through his prophets,

1010 And the Lord said through His servants the prophets:

1111 "Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, having done wickedly more than all the Amorites did who were before him, and has also made Judah sin with his idols;

1111 Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:

1111 "Since Manasseh king of Judah has committed all these abominations-greater evil than the Amorites who preceded him had done-and by means of his idols has also caused Judah to sin,

1111 "Because King Manasseh of Judah has committed these despicable things, acting more sinfully than did all of the Amorites who preceded him, including making Judah sin with its idols,

1111 Because Manasseh king of Judah has committed these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did who were before him, and has made Judah also to sin with his idols,

1212 therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I am bringing such calamity on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.

1212 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.

1212 this is what the Lord God of Israel says: 'I am about to bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that everyone who hears about it will shudder.

1212 therefore this is what the LORD God of Israel says: "Look! I'm going to bring such a disaster to Jerusalem and Judah that both ears of those who hear about it will ring.

1212 Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle!

1313 'I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

1313 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.

1313 I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line [used on] Samaria and the mason's level [used on] the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem clean as one wipes a bowl-wiping it and turning it upside down.

1313 I'll stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line that is Samaria and the plumb line that is Ahab's dynasty. Then I'll wipe Jerusalem like one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down!

1313 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

1414 'I will abandon the remnant of My inheritance and deliver them into the hand of their enemies, and they will become as plunder and spoil to all their enemies;

1414 And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;

1414 I will abandon the remnant of My inheritance and hand them over to their enemies. They will become plunder and spoil to all their enemies,

1414 I will abandon the survivors of my heritage and hand them over to their enemies. They will become war booty and spoil to all of their enemies,

1414 And I will cast off the rest of My inheritance and deliver them into the hands of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies,

1515 because they have done evil in My sight, and have been provoking Me to anger since the day their fathers came from Egypt, even to this day.'"

1515 Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.

1515 because they have done what is evil in My sight and have provoked Me from the day their ancestors came out of Egypt until today.' "

1515 because they have done what I consider to be evil and they have provoked me from the day their ancestors left Egypt right up to this day!'"

1515 For they have done evil in My sight and have provoked Me to anger since their fathers came out of Egypt to this day.

1616 Moreover, Manasseh shed very much innocent blood until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin with which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the LORD.

1616 Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

1616 Manasseh also shed so much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem with it from one end to another. This was in addition to his sin he caused Judah to commit so that they did what was evil in the Lord's sight.

1616 In addition to this, Manasseh shed lots of innocent blood until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another besides his sin by which he caused Judah to sin by practicing what the LORD considered to be evil.

1616 Moreover, Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, filling Jerusalem from one end to another -- "besides his sin in making Judah sin, by doing evil in the sight of the Lord!

Manasseh's Death

1717 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh and all that he did and his sin which he committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

1717 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

1717 The rest of Manasseh's deeds, including everything that he accomplished and the sin that he practiced, are recorded in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah, are they not?

1717 The rest of the acts of Manasseh, all that he did, and his sin that he committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

1818 And Manasseh slept with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza, and Amon his son became king in his place.

1818 And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

1818 Manasseh rested with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, the garden of Uzza. His son Amon became king in his place.

1818 Manasseh died, as did his ancestors, and he was buried in the garden at his home in the Garden of Uzza. His son Amon became king in his place.

1818 Manasseh slept with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza. Amon his son reigned in his stead.

Amon Reigns In Judah Only Two Years

1919 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

1919 Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

1919 Amon was 22 years old when he became king; he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; [she was] from Jotbah.

1919 Amon began to reign at the age of 22, and ruled for two years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

1919 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began his two-year reign in Jerusalem. His mother was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

2020 He did evil in the sight of the LORD, as Manasseh his father had done.

2020 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did.

2020 He did what was evil in the Lord's sight as his father Manasseh had done.

2020 He practiced what the LORD considered to be evil, just as his father Manasseh had done,

2020 [But] he also did evil in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done.

2121 For he walked in all the way that his father had walked, and served the idols that his father had served and worshiped them.

2121 And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:

2121 He walked in all the ways his father had walked; he served the idols his father had served, and he worshiped them.

2121 because he completely adopted his father's lifestyle, serving the same idols his father had served and worshipped.

2121 He walked in all the ways of his father; and he served the idols that his father served, and worshiped them;

2222 So he forsook the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the LORD.

2222 And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.

2222 He abandoned the Lord God of his ancestors and did not walk in the way of the Lord.

2222 As a result, he abandoned the LORD God of his ancestors and did not walk in the LORD's way.

2222 He forsook the Lord, the God of his [forefathers], and did not walk in the way of the Lord.

2323 The servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his own house.

2323 And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.

2323 Amon's servants conspired against the king and killed him in his own house.

2323 Later on, Amon's staff conspired against him and killed the king inside his own home.

2323 The servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his own house.

2424 Then the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

2424 And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

2424 Then the common people executed all those who had conspired against King Amon and made his son Josiah king in his place.

2424 But afterward, the people of the land executed everyone who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land installed his son Josiah to be king in his place.

2424 But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and made Josiah his son king in his stead.

2525 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

2525 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

2525 The rest of the events of Amon's [reign], along with his accomplishments, are written about in the Historical Record of Judah's Kings.

2525 Now the rest of Amon's activities that he undertook are recorded in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah, are they not?

2525 The rest of the acts of Amon, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

2626 He was buried in his grave in the garden of Uzza, and Josiah his son became king in his place.

2626 And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.

2626 He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza, and his son Josiah became king in his place.

2626 He was buried in his own grave in the Garden of Uzza, and his son Josiah became king in his place.

2626 He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza. Josiah his son succeeded him.
