And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.
But My covenant I will establish with
Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year.”
He said, “
I will surely return to you at this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door, which was behind him.
I will bless her, and indeed I will give you
a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”
But the angel said to him, “
Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John.
