Saul asked God: Should I attack the Philistines? Will you help us win? This time God did not answer.

So he asked Jehovah what to do. But Jehovah did not answer him. He did not answer by dreams or by the use of Urim and Thummim or by prophets.

Son of man, these people are devoted to their idols. They allow themselves to sin. Should they be allowed to ask me for anything?

I took him to your disciples, and they were not able to make him well.

Jesus then said: O faithless generation. How long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to me.

Some Jews went around driving out evil spirits saying: In the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches I command you to come out!

Hearing

So they took the bull that was given them, and made it ready. They cried out to Baal from morning till the middle of the day. They said: O Baal, give ear to us. But there was no voice and no answer. They jumped up and down before the altar they had made.

Not awaked

so men lie down and do not rise. Until the heavens are no more, men will not awake or be roused from their sleep.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

He entered and said: Why all the commotion and why do you weep. The child is not dead but sleeps.

Then he told them: Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. I go to wake him out of sleep.

For this reason it says: Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.
