The Famine Brings Justice

⁶ Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will disjoint them, hanging them from a tree, unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them. ⁷ But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the oath of the Lord which was between them, between David and Saul’s son Jonathan. ⁸ But the king took the two sons of Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah, whom she gave birth unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth, and five sons of Michal, the daughter of Saul, whom she had given birth unto Adriel, the son of Barzillai, the Meholathite;

Then Jonathan and David made a covenant because he loved him as his own soul.

And David said unto him, Fear not; for I will surely show thee mercy for Jonathan, thy father's sake, and will restore unto thee all the land of Saul, thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
