Then the LORD said, "I have surely seen the trouble of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry, which they have of their taskmasters. For I know their sorrow,
"Now, for the comfortless troubles' sake of the needy, and because of the deep sighing of the poor, I will arise," saith the LORD, "and will help them, and set them at rest."
For he shall deliver the poor when he crieth, and the needy that hath no help.
Sure I am, that the LORD will avenge the poor, and maintain the cause of the helpless.
The spirit of the LORD God is with me, for the LORD hath anointed me, and sent me to preach good tidings unto the poor: that I might bind up the wounded hearts, that I might preach deliverance to the captive, and open the prison to them that are bound;
In their troubles he forsook them not, but the angel that went forth from his presence delivered them. Of very love and kindness that he had unto them, he redeemed them: He hath born them, and carried them up ever since the world began.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

But thine

or else I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart and upon thy servants and on thy people, that you mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

pour out thy indignation of thy wrath; see that thou cast down all the proud,
For though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly; as for the proud, he beholdeth them afar off.
A presumptuous look, a proud stomach, and the plowing of the ungodly is sin.
which casteth down the high looks of presumptuous persons, and bringeth low the pride of man, and the LORD only shall be exalted in that day.
Thus shall man have a fall; he shall be brought low, and the high looks of the proud shall be laid down.
But thou Sennacherib, whom hast thou defied and blasphemed? And against whom hast thou lifted up thy voice, and exalted thy proud looks? Even against the holy one of Israel.
Then did I, Nebuchadnezzar, love, magnify and praise the King of heaven: for all his works are true, and his ways right. As for those that go on proudly, he is able to bring them down.
but giveth more grace?
Likewise, ye younger submit yourselves unto the elder. Submit yourselves every man, one to another. Knit yourselves together in lowliness of mind. For God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble.
