said he, how unlawful it is for a Jew, to frequent a stranger, or even to go to his house: but God hath shewed me, that I should not look upon any man as common and unclean.

but the voice from heaven address'd it self to me again, and said, don't call that impure, which God has purified.

making no difference between us and them, having purified their hearts by the faith.

that which entereth by the mouth is not what defiles a man: but what defiles the man is that which is discharged by the mouth.

again I looked, and I saw a white cloud, and there was sitting upon the cloud one like the son of man, having a crown of gold upon his head,

whatever is sold in the shambles, that eat, without making any scrupulous enquiry.

for till certain Jews came thither from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, for fear of those, who were for circumcision:

interdicting marriage; and the use of animal food; which God created for the repast of the faithful, who embrace the truth with thankfulness.

to the pure all things are pure: but to corrupt infidels nothing is pure; whose very mind and conscience is polluted.

This type subsists to the present time, both gifts and sacrifices being still offered, which cannot purify the mind of him that officiates
