1 New a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of a band, called the Italian band??2 devout, and fearing God with all his house, giving many alms to the people, and praying to God continually??3 saw in a vision manifestly, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in to him, and saying to him, "Cornelius!"

16 and, calling, were inquiring whether Simon who was surnamed Peter, was lodging there.

18 But, arising, go down, and journey with them, nothing doubting; because I have sent them."

20 And they said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man, and one fearing God, well reported of also by all the nation of the Jews, was divinely warned by a holy angel to send for you to his house, and to hear words from you."
20 But get up, go downstairs and (Z)accompany them (r)without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself.”
20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

21 Having called them in, therefore, he lodged them. And, on the morrow, arising, he went with them; and some of the brethren from Joppa went with him.
21 Peter went down to the men and said, “Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?”
21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
21 Then Peter went down to the men and said, “Here I am, the one you’re looking for. What is the reason you’re here?”
21 So Peter went to the men and said, "I'm the man you're looking for. Why are you here?"
22 And on the following day they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was expecting them, having called together his kinsmen and near friends.
22 They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and (AA)God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, (AB)was divinely directed by a (AC)holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear (s)(AD)a message from you.”
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
22 They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who has a good reputation with the whole Jewish nation, was divinely directed by a holy angel to call you to his house and to hear a message from you.”(M)
22 The men replied, "Cornelius, a centurion and an upright and God-fearing man who is respected by the whole Jewish nation, was instructed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his home to hear what you have to say."
23 And when it came to pass that Peter entered, Cornelius, meeting him, and falling at his feet, worshipped him.
23 So he invited them in and gave them lodging.And on the next day he got up and went away with them, and (AE)some of (AF)the brethren from (AG)Joppa accompanied him.

27 Wherefore, also, having been sent for, I came without gainsaying. I ask, therefore, with what intent ye sent for me."

28 And he said to them, “You yourselves know how (AL)unlawful it is for a man who is a Jew to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; and yet (AM)God has shown me that I should not call any man (u)unholy or unclean.
28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
28 Peter said to them, “You know it’s forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner.(P) But God has shown me that I must not call any person common or unclean.(Q)
28 He told them, "You understand how wrong it is for a Jew to associate or visit with unbelievers. But God has shown me that I should stop calling anyone common or unclean,
29 and says, 'Cornelius, your prayer was heard, and your alms were remembered before God.
29 That is why I came without even raising any objection when I was sent for. So I ask for what reason you have sent for me.”
29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
29 That’s why I came without any objection when I was sent for. So I ask: Why did you send for me?”
29 and that is why I didn't hesitate when I was sent for. Now may I ask why you sent for me?"
30 Send, therefore, to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is surnamed Peter; the same is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.'
30 Cornelius said, “(AN)Four days ago to this hour, I was praying in my house during (AO)the (v)ninth hour; and behold, (AP)a man stood before me in shining garments,
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
30 Cornelius replied, “Four days ago at this hour, at three in the afternoon,(d) I was(e) praying in my house. Just then a man in a dazzling robe stood before me(R)
30 Cornelius replied, "Four days ago at this very hour, three o'clock in the afternoon, I was praying in my home. All at once a man in radiant clothes stood in front of me
31 At once, therefore, I sent to you; and you did well, in coming. Now, therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things that have been commanded you by the Lord."
31 and he *said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your (w)alms have been remembered before God.
31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
31 and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered in God’s sight.
31 and said, "Cornelius, your prayer has been heard. God has remembered your gifts to the poor,
32 And Peter, opening his mouth, said, "Of a truth, I perceive that God is not a respecter of persons;
32 Therefore send to (AQ)Joppa and invite Simon, who is also called Peter, to come to you; he is staying at the house of Simon the tanner by the sea.’
32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
32 Therefore send someone to Joppa and invite Simon here, who is also named Peter. He is lodging in Simon the tanner’s house by the sea.’(f)

33 but, in every nation, he who fears Him, and works righteousness, is acceptable to Him.
33 So I sent for you immediately, and you have (x)been kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here present before God to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord.”
33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
33 Therefore I immediately sent for you, and you did the right thing in coming. So we are all present before God, to hear everything you have been commanded by the Lord.”
33 So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. All of us are here now in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has ordered you to say."
34 He sent the word to the sons of Israel, proclaiming the glad tidings of peace through Jesus Christ, (He is Lord of all):
34 (AR)Opening his mouth, Peter said:“I most certainly understand now that (AS)God is not one to show partiality,
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35 Ye know the word that came throughout all Judaea, after the immersion which John preached; even Jesus of Nazareth,
35 but (AT)in every nation the man who (y)(AU)fears Him and (z)does what is right is welcome to Him.
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

35 Indeed, whoever fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him in any nation.
36 how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power; Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the Devil; because God was with Him.

44 for they heard them speaking with tongues, and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
44 While Peter was still speaking these words, (BO)the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the (ag)message.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 "Can any one forbid the water, that these should not be immersed, who, indeed, received the Holy Spirit as well as we?"
45 (BP)All the (ah)circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been (BQ)poured out on the Gentiles also.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
