Now as soon as it got daylight there was a lot of commotion among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.

But when the officers arrived at the jail the apostles were gone, so they returned to the Council and reported,

With that prospect in view, it was considered honorable by the Romans for a person to commit suicide].
