For a man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of
Artemis, was bringing no little business to the craftsmen;
But when Paul was about to
open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If it were a matter of wrong or of vicious crime, O Jews, it would be reasonable for me to put up with you;
If any case is too difficult for you to decide, between one kind of homicide or another, between one kind of lawsuit or another, and between one kind of assault or another, being cases of dispute in your courts, then you shall arise and go up to the place which the Lord your God chooses.
1 Corinthians 6:1
Does any one of you, when he has a
case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints?
