And when Paul arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, bringing many serious charges against him, which they could not prove.

but since it is a matter of questions about words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves; I refuse to be a judge of these things."

I found that he was accused over questions about their Law, but there was no accusation against him deserving death or imprisonment.

Superstition

So Paul stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens, I see that in every way you are very religious.

beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from usone of these men must become with us a witness to his resurrection."

This Jesus God raised up again, and of that we are all witnesses.

because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given proof to all men by raising him from the dead."

To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen:

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

and the Living One; I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore! And I have the keys of death and Hades.
