But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.
After Paul arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, bringing
many and serious charges against him which they could not prove,
but if there are
questions about words and names and your own law, look after it yourselves; I am unwilling to be a judge of these matters.”
and I found him to be accused over
questions about their Law, but under no accusation deserving death or imprisonment.
So Paul stood in the midst of the
Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects.
beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”
God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.
because He has fixed
a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.”
So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day
testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place;
1 Corinthians 15:3
I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
Why is it considered incredible among you people
if God does raise the dead?
