"The kings of the earth set themselves in array, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against his Christ.

So the chief priests and Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin.

And the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus too,

While they were addressing the people the priests, the commander of the Temple, and the Sadducees came upon them,

Then perceiving that half the Sanhedrin were Sadducees and the other half Pharisee, he cried out in the Sanhedrin. "Brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of Pharisees! It is for the hope of the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial!"

Indignation

"The patriarchs out of jealousy sold Joseph into Egypt.

When they saw the crowds, the Jews were filled with jealousy, and began to contradict Paul's statements, and to abuse him.

But the Jews, moved with jealousy, called to their aid certain ill-favored and idle fellows, formed a mob, and began to set the town in an uproar. Assaulting the house of Jason, they sought to bring them out to the people.

He knew well that it was because of enmity that they had brought Jesus before him.

envy, drunkenness, revellings, and things like these. I tell you beforehand, as I have already told you, that those who practise such sins shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But if you have bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, do not be boasting of that, and be false to the truth.

Or do you suppose that it is in vain that the Scripture says, "The spirit which has its home in us yearns over us unto jealousy?"

Therefore put away all malice, all deceit, insincerity, jealousy, and slander of every sort.
