8 The Lord (f)God has (O)sworn by Himself, the Lord God of hosts has declared:“I (P)loathe the arrogance of Jacob,And (g)detest his (Q)citadels; Therefore I will (R)deliver up the city and (h)all it contains.”

8 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.

8 The Lord God has sworn by Himself(P)—this is the declaration of Yahweh, the God of Hosts:I loathe Jacob’s pride(Q)and hate his citadels,(R)so I will hand over the city(S) and everything in it.

9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.

9 And it will be, if (S)ten men are left in one house, they will die.

10 And their uncle shall take each one and burn them to bring out the bones out of the house and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then he shall say, Hold thy tongue, for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.

10 Then one’s (i)uncle, or his (j)(T)undertaker, will lift him up to carry out his bones from the house, and he will say to the one who is in the innermost part of the house, “Is anyone else with you?” And that one will say, “No one.” Then he will (k)answer, “(U)Keep quiet. For (l)the name of the Lord is (V)not to be mentioned.”

10 And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.

10 A close relative(c) and burner(d)(U) will remove his corpse(e) from the house. He will call to someone in the inner recesses of the house, “Any more with you?”That person will reply, “None.”Then he will say, “Silence, because Yahweh’s name must not be invoked.”(V)

10 One's relative will pick up the corpse to carry them from the house for burning, saying to whomever remains inside the house, "Is there anyone still with you?' And he will say, "No.' He will respond, "Be quiet, because we do not mention the name "LORD".'

11 For, behold, the LORD shall command, and he will smite the great house with breaches and the little house with clefts.

11 For behold, the Lord is going to (W)command that the (X)great house be smashed to pieces and the small house to fragments.

11 For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
