Destruction Of Israel
1 I saw [in a vision] the Lord standing at the altar, and He said,“Destroy the capitals (tops) of the pillars so that the thresholds will shake,And break them on the heads of all of the people! Then I will kill the rest of them with the sword; They will not have a fugitive who will get away,Or a survivor who will escape.
1 I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered.
1 I saw the Lord standing beside the (A)altar, and He said,“Smite the capitals so that the (B)thresholds will shake,And (C)break them on the heads of them all! Then I will (D)slay the rest of them with the sword; They will (E)not have a fugitive who will flee,Or a refugee who will escape.
1 I saw the Lord standing beside the altar,(A) and He said:Strike the capitals of the pillars(B)so that the thresholds shake;knock them down on the heads of all the people. Then I will kill the rest of them with the sword.(C)None of those who flee will get away;(D)none of the fugitives will escape.
1 I saw the Lord standing beside the altar as he was saying, "Strike the doorposts so that the thresholds tremble, bringing them down on the heads of all of them. Those who survive I will kill with the sword. Those who flee will not escape. There will be no deliverance for the fugitives.
2 “Though they dig into (a)Sheol [to hide in the deepest pit],From there My hand will take them [for judgment];And though they climb up to heaven [to hide in the realm of light],From there will I bring them down [for judgment].
2 Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:
2 “Though they dig into (F)Sheol,From there will My hand take them; And though they (G)ascend to heaven,From there will I bring them down.
2 If they dig down to Sheol,(E)from there My hand will take them;if they climb up to heaven,(F)from there I will bring them down.
2 "Even if they burrow into Sheol, from there my hand will find them. Even if they ascend to the heavens, from there I will bring them down.
3 “Though they hide on the summit of [Mount] Carmel,I will track them down and take them from there; And though they hide from My sight on the floor of the sea,From there I shall command the serpent and it will bite them.
3 And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:
3 “Though they hide on the summit of Carmel,I will (H)search them out and take them from there; And though they (I)conceal themselves from My sight on the floor of the sea,From there I will command the (J)serpent and it will bite them.
3 If they hide themselveson the top of Carmel, from there I will track them down(G)and seize them;if they conceal themselvesfrom My sight on the sea floor,(H)from there I will commandthe sea serpent to bite them.(I)
3 Even if they hide at the top of Mount Carmel, from there I will search and seize them. Even if they hide from my sight in the depths of the sea, from there I will order the serpent to strike them.
4 “And though they go into captivity before their enemies,From there I shall command the sword to kill them,And I will set My eyes against them for evil (judgment, punishment) and not for good [that is, not for correction leading to restoration].”
4 And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.
4 “And though they go into (K)captivity before their enemies,From there I will command the sword that it slay them,And I will (L)set My eyes against them for evil and not for good.”

5 The Lord God of hosts [the Omnipotent Ruler],It is He who touches the earth [in judgment] and it melts,And all who dwell on it mourn [in despair and fear],And all of it rises up like the NileAnd subsides like the Nile of Egypt;
