And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a certain man
dressed in linen, whose waist was girded with a belt of pure gold of Uphaz.
I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it; and behold, standing before me was one who looked like a man.
while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man
Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.
above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.
emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His chest with a golden sash.
So I was
left alone and saw this great vision; yet no strength was left in me, for my natural color turned to a deathly pallor, and I retained no strength.
“As for me, Daniel, my spirit was distressed
within me, and the visions in my mind kept alarming me.
So he came near to where I was standing, and when he came I was frightened and
fell on my face; but he said to me, “Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the time of the end.”
in much wisdom there is much grief, and increasing knowledge results in increasing pain.
