“Though He slay me,
I will hope in Him.
Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.

The wicked flee when no one is pursuing,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.

“I, even I, am He who comforts you.
Who are you that you are afraid of man who dies
And of the son of man who is made like grass,

Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in

hell.

But He replied to them, “

When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’

Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops.

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that

by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health.

But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.
